This week's savoury croissant baked with fresh Cortland apple slices, and topped with delicious Welsh cheddar cheese and local maple syrup.

 

Lunch time at the Black Walnut Bakery! This months sandwiches are:

Balsamic pulled pork with roasted butternut squash and purple coleslaw, served on a fresh egg bun.

Bartlett pear and brie cheese with baby arugula, served on a fresh flaky croissant.

Roast turkey, with smoked cheddar cheese, fresh cranberry sauce and baby arugula, served on our house made ciabatta.

Sandwich flavours are available for the month of October. Lunch is served daily from 10am till 2pm.

 

New! Pumpkin latte for the month of October. Housemade with roasted pumpkin puree from locally grown Navan pumpkins and spiced with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Slightly sweetened with milk and sugar

 

Introducing our newest artist featured at the bakery, a local Cumberland-ite, Diana Westwood Guy. This series of beautiful woodcut prints and watercolour paintings will be on display until the end of October. Thank you Diana for sharing your stunning work with us!

Orders: We are no longer accepting orders for this weekend, however we will be making extra to accommodate walk ins. We recommend coming in early. We open at 8am Friday and Saturday and at 9am on Sunday. Happy Thanksgiving! 

 

Heads up Thanksgiving is just around the corner! If you would like to place an order in advance, please do so by Sunday September 30th by midnight. Our sincere apologies we will not accept any orders placed after the deadline. With the sheer volume of baking we will be doing that week, it takes us a good week to organize the orders, ingredient purchasing, baking schedule and production. Please note: Our production is limited, and so if orders reach our maximum, we may unfortunately decline orders.

Its that time of year again! The Harvest Market is on this coming Sunday, September 30th. Located at the Cumberland Heritage Museum on Old Montreal Rd. It runs from 10am to 4pm. There will be tons of vendors and plenty of family orientated activities! The weather will be stunning! Hope to see you there!

Back by popular demand, Moroccan chicken, served with a green olive tapenade, harissa mayonnaise, pickled red onions and fresh baby kale, served on our house made ciabatta.

Hello! We're back!! This week's sandwiches are inspired by our recent trip to Morocco: 

Meat: Roasted chicken breast marinated in a lemon harissa sauce with olive tapenade and arugula on fresh ciabatta $8.00

Veggie: Roasted peppers and zucchini with hummus and arugula on fresh housemade flatbread $7.00

 

Our summer break will take place from June 11th to 26th, 2018. We will closed for this period, and refreshed and ready to open back up at 8am on June 27th! Thank you for your understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our Easter order deadline has passed. We set a 1 week deadline ahead of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) for our sanity. This deadline is important for us to organize ourselves with baking schedules, production numbers and ingredients. It saves us from having to run out last minute running errands, and usually allows for far fewer mistakes made on all fronts. We apologize for the inconvenience, but thank you for your understanding. That being said, we are increasing our production significantly all week for both orders and walk ins as well. So you do not have to have a preorder if you would like to stop in and see what we have available.

Dear friends and family! Introducing our newest addition, baby Caleb. Our healthy boy came almost a month earlier than expected. Weighing in at just over 7.5 lbs of butter!

Strawberries are finally in season! Savour the fresh harvest and enjoy a homemade strawberry rhubarb pie. Strawberries are locally sourced from Proulx Farm and rhubarb is harvested from our Cumberland neighbours!

Blueberry Pecan Crunch: I don't generally even like blueberry pies, but Chantal (our pie baker queen) makes the best! This one is made with wild blueberries baked in a yoghurt custard, topped with a crunchy pecan crumble.
 
Banana Coconut Cream: If you love bananas and coconut, simply to die for. Super fresh, light and the toasted coconut is the best!
