Ideal is an unglazed clay or wooden bread box that allows the bread to breathe.
Don't have a bread box? Then wrap the bread in a paper bag and then loosely in a plastic bag and leave at room temperature. (The fridge will stale it faster..) It should keep for approx 4 to 5 days. Baguettes unfortunately though are a 1 day keep only because they are so thin.
For freezing, wrap well in plastic and freeze for up to 3 months, either whole or sliced. Taking it out of the freezer, let it thaw on its own first. To restore the crust of a whole loaf, pop in the oven at 400F for 5 min or so until the crust comes back. Or slice by slice in the toaster works great too! The oven also works great for restoring thawed croissants.
Hope this helps Let us know how your bread keeping experience has been!
