Covid-19 Update: Porch-Side Pick Up for Pre-Paid Online Orders

Hey there! 

Welcome to our new system: Porch-side pick up for prepaid online orders!

PICK UP DATES: WEDNESDAYS, THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS + SATURDAYS ONLY (12 - 5pm)

AVAILABLE MENU: We will post the menu with new offerings every Monday morning at 9AM. 

To maintain a safe working environment for our team, we can only accommodate four pick up dates a week. Pick up window is between 12 noon - 5pm every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Note: We cannot offer delivery at this time. Our apologies!

OUR TEAM

We are operating as a reduced team, with only 4 members on staff, and each working independently of one another on separate schedules. We are strictly sanitizing our workspace in between shifts, being very mindful about washing our hands regularly, and practicing stringent physical distancing both at work and at home. Because we've decided to only have one baker in the building at a time, we have limited our menu so that we can manage the workload realistically. If you don't see the items you are looking for, they are not available at this time. 

LIMITED ORDERS

We are limiting the number of orders per day so our parking lot doesn't get too full. We will monitor the number of orders coming in for each pick up date, block dates off as they fill up, and then open up following dates for availability. We are also limiting the quantity of product we can make, so you may see items as sold out for a certain date. If that is the case, wait until the next pick up date opens up and you'll most likely notice the stock replenished. We will not be serving beverages for the time being, not until we can devise a plan to do so safely and efficiently. 

HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER

When you place your order online, choose from the menu listed on the home page. You can add items to your cart, proceed to check out, choose a pick up date and time available, and then pay for your order. As soon as payment is received, you will get an automatic email confirmation with your order number. This means we received your order, and we will have it ready for pick up on your chosen pick up date. All orders must be pre paid. There will be no walk-in service. As no one can enter the building, we cannot accept any payment on site. 

TOUCHLESS PORCH PICK UP

Please come as close to your chosen pick up time as you can. This will help space out the numbers of visiting customers more comfortably. Once you arrive to pick up your order, please line up at our front steps. You will notice we have tables set up separating ourselves from the public. We will ask you for your last name or your order number. We kindly ask that you wait behind the red line while your order is being retrieved. Once we bring your order out to the table and step back, you may then approach to grab your goods. 

SAFETY FIRST

For the safety of our team and your fellow customers, please refrain from visiting our bakery if you have travelled within 14 days, have come in contact with someone ill, or if you feel symptoms of covid-19 yourself. Please stay home. We've had a number of Cumberland residents offer to do deliveries for fellow customers in self-isolation, so if that would be helpful to you, please contact us for arrangements at info@blackwalnutbakery.ca
